A few of my friends live in Victoria were there are a lot of fires at the moment . Walls of flame roar across Victoria, where homes, forests and farmland are being caught up by fires. It is the worst disaster in a 25 years It has been said that many many people have died and the toll will rise . Witnesses described seeing trees exploding and skies raining ash as temperatures hit a record 47 degreesThe Premier of Victoria John Brumby, has accepted the Prime Minister's Mr Keven Rudd's offer of army personel to help the exhausted volunteer firefighter. Mr Rudd went to the areas to see for himself the devistation and to see and talk to servivors of the terrable fires.
In Queensland there is the other end of the spectrum rain so much that it is flooding in areas far north of Brisbane. Townsville and Ingham were two of the worst-hit areas in the state .A king tide and storm surge crushed a popular Townsville playground and car park near the foreshore, causing millions of dollars in damage. Also waves measuring 6.5m surged offshore as boats scrambled for secure moorings at the city's two main ports. These are times that I really can not understand weather.
