There have been thousands of holiday makers evacuated from Fraser Island , and near by islands as the people in that area brace for the impact of Cyclone Hamish.
Queensland coast is not expected to feel the impact until Tuesday, although many areas could experience damaging wind gusts, heavy rain and flash flooding over the next 48 hours.
Hamish has been moving south along to the Queensland coast, and is moving towards Yeppoon F.N.Q . The Emergency services is putting up flood barrier equipment to help the situation . People have been valuated from these coastal areas too as a precaution .
The area at risk in the foreseeable future is Yeppoon to Gladstone, tomorrow night it should be in the area of Lady Elliot and Heron islands.
