Wow What a night last night
On arrival at the Perth Convention centre, we were greeted by a line of Malaysian men and women in vibrant colours of nation dress and after registering we were escorted to the VIP pre dinner drink area.
During this initial reception we met consular dignitaries from the UK , Belgium, Singapore, our State Governor, Secretaries, and many other prominent Perth people, and consolers representatives from around the world.
When we all moved to go into the Ball Room, we were escorted by the Concel General of Malaysian and people in brightly coloured traditional dress some who drummed and stood beside us as we walked to where our table was. When we sat down theMalaysian Prime Minister greeted us via a live video link. Then both nation anthems were played with much gusto and the customary speeches from the WA Government politicians, the 960 people in the room was then welcomed by the Consel General.
Our banquet was made up of beautiful food comprising of Chicken Satays, Nazi Himpit, Beef Rending, Rice, Red Curry Chicken with Potatoes and Mango ice-cream to name but a few.
During the evening we were entertained by a diverse range of dancers , song and martial arts . some of these were Sierra, Elvis Vegas, Malaysian Cultural Dance Troupe, Kompang Drumand Chung Wah Dance Troupe
The atmosphere of the colours, sound and tastes was truly reprehensive of the Malaysian people to celebrate their special day 50th celebration of the forming of their country.
